Example sentences; Japanese

Am I missing something? I can't seem to find anyway (or any forum posts/blogs) to enable example sentences for Japanese? Are they even available. Thanks

Currently it's only available for Chinese...

I'm really looking forward to it too!

I know developers want to implement two-way communication with tatoeba site... But till that feature is ready, I think it would be nice to just import the tatoeba examples.

Thanks for the replies; I thought that might have been the case.

I am anxiously waiting for their arrival.

Maybe the 'skritter team' can give us an update. I really do love skritter and have few criticisms. However, given that we pay the same subscription fee as chinese learners; had to wait much longer for the audio and now the example sentences...Japanese definitely feels like the 'Robin' in this language fighting team.

It is true that we try to work on features that will bring the greatest benefit first, and try to maintain feature parity between the two languages second. We have Chinese example sentences first because our summer intern, Maksym, found a good Chinese source for them as a test and hooked that up right before he left.

This showed us that it's an awesome feature, but we're not ready to fully finish it yet--it also showed us that it's a lot more work than we expected, and much of the work for Chinese sentences won't carry over to Japanese and to the planned Tatoeba integration (which would lead to a wait to create, share, and vote for various sentences like you can with mnemonics, in both Chinese and Japanese, with translations in more than just English).

So I'm afraid it'll be a while. Sorry!

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I hope you didn't see a complaining tone to my enquiry. I was just voicing what I'm sure many other of the Japanese (and more importantly potential) Japanese users would want to know. Keep up the good work.
